Run by Eastbourne Astronomical Society from 7 to 9pm, they will provide a family friendly tour of the night sky suitable for all. Members of the society will point out the constellations, features on the Moon and some of the Planets using both their own and society's telescopes. If you have your own telescope or even binoculars you are welcome to bring them along.

Other bright objects in the night sky will also be observed, usually planets, but the visibility of these varies from month to month as they orbit the Sun.

The race starts in Princes Park and mostly follows the seafront promenades towards Beachy Head and back to Sovereign Harbour, where the course loops back to the finish which is located in Princes Park.

A selection of new paintings from Julian Sutherland-Beatson. Julian paints the countryside, coastline and urban areas of this beautiful and diverse county. He has work in the permanent collection of the House of Lords, has been selected to exhibit at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition on three occasions and, for the past nine years, has exhibited during the annual Glyndebourne Festival.

He is joined at this exhibition by guest artist, painter and printmaker Lis Lawrence who lives and works in Jevington.

We are approaching the centenary of two horrid crimes that shocked Eastbourne and were to have lasting repercussions. The callous murders of two women were committed in the early 1920s on the desolate area of shingle between Eastbourne and Pevensey known as The Crumbles.

Local and Police historian, Kevin Gordon, has studied the crimes and will tell the fascinating and sometimes gruesome story of the Crumbles Murders. The talk is illustrated with some of the original crime of scene photos from his collection.
